These magnificent beaches are host to many exciting activities and events throughout the year, from shelling and sunning, to wind surfing and parasailing, from fabulous fireworks and clam bakes, to Easter Sunrise Service on the beach, from nesting birds to nesting turtles.

During June and July, residents and visitors to Marco Island have the chance to see an ancient ritual re-enacted, when the loggerhead sea turtles crawl out of the Gulf of Mexico onto the beach and lay their eggs. About two months later, the new turtle hatchlings emerge and begin their journey down the beach and into the Gulf.
